I’m a Ph.D. student at vialab; my current research is related to using NLP and learner corpora to develop educational applications for non-native English speakers. I’ve been supervised by Dr. Christopher Collins at University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) since 2015 when I started my M.Sc. degree (2017).
In 2013, during my undergraduate program in Brazil (Brazilian Portuguese is my native language), I was granted a full scholarship from the Brazilian Government to do a 1-year exchange program at UOIT. I obtained my Bachelors of Computer Science degree from Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP – Brazil) as the top of my class in 2015.
My research interests fall into language learning, data visualization, HCI, recommendation systems, robotics and education.

In my spare time, I like working out; lifting weights, building muscle, playing “Just Dance” and doing some HIIT cardio. Well, I try to be as fit as I can. Once I am a food lover, I work out hard so I can eat more!
